Deer Hunting- For the first time ever at the expo, world renowned deer hunter, Harold Knight will reveal his trophy hunting secrets.  Topics will include scent control and attraction, early season vs. the rut, a new calling and rattling technique, decoys and stand placement.  Harold is nationally known as a Trophy whitetail hunter, call manufacturer and host of Knight and Hale’s “Ultimate Hunting” on the Outdoor Network”, but will be sharing local tips and techniques.

Turkey Hunting- Knight and Hale’s Harold Knight, the Dean of turkey hunters, will be discussing transitions in the spring, what calls to use and how, turkey decoys and set up, bow hunting and other spring turkey hunting tips.  He will also be showcasing a deadly new turkey decoy and turkey blind for the first time ever.
 
Bass Fishing- Dale Hollow’s “Smallmouth Guru”, Stephen Headrick, will be sharing the spinner-bait techniques and tactics that have gained him recognition in dozens of national magazine articles.  A truly in-depth seminar, topics will include discussions of the proper size, color and style of spinner-bait for year-round bass fishing success.

Muskie Fishing- Professional Muskie Guide and Tournament Champion Crash Mullins will reveal his Big Fish Secrets.  Topics will include lure and tackle selection, seasonal behavior, and locations for monster Muskie.  Best of all, these are tips for taking Muskie from local waters like Cave Run and Green River.

Food Plots- “Real World Whitetails” video producer and Monster Plots field rep, Kevin Boyer, will be sharing decades of experience managing food plots and harvesting trophy whitetail deer.  Topics will include nutritional values of food plots and why and where to locate them.  He will also be giving an in-depth discussion on the body and antler growth of whitetail deer

The Big Buck Display & Contest : Kentucky, Indiana & Ohio Bucks


 

 

 

 

The Big Buck display at the Jim Strader Hunting & Fishing Expo is a unique once-a-year opportunity to showcase your trophy buck in front of thousands of Kentuckiana deer hunters who are eager to see the regions finest deer and talk to the hunters who were lucky enough to harvest them.

 

The Big Buck display has showcased Kentucky's current typical and non-typical state records, the Robert Smith and Ben Brogle bucks, the awesome Troy Wilson cactus buck, and several legendary Indiana deer like Bob Bromm's former world record muzzleloader buck, which scored more than 220 non-typical inches of antler.

 

YOUR buck will be scored free of charge, placed upon display and put in the running for the trophies and prizes in the Big Buck Contest. ALL hunters displaying their deer will recieve an OFFICIAL Big Buck certificate and a free pass for admission to Sunday's show at which time the Big Buck trophies and prizes will be awarded.

This year's display will feature loads of B & C and P & Y candidates! You don't want to miss some of the nation's largest bucks of the year!                                     

 

Deer can be scored all three days of the expo free of charge with paid admission into the show. However, in order for your buck to be eligible for the Big Buck Contest your deer must be registered by noon on Saturday February 7th. Contestants of the Big Buck Contest will receive a free ticket for readmission to the show to attend the awards ceremony and retrieve their mounts.
